Deleting your data

What BosOn keeps when you connect Meta

BosOn is a desktop app for Windows and Mac. When you connect your Facebook and Instagram accounts, it reads your ad accounts, Pages, Instagram accounts, ads, their results and your posts, and keeps them in your BosOn library on your own computer. The key that lets it reach Meta for you is stored encrypted on that computer, with Windows' own protection or the macOS Keychain.

We (EAanalytics Ltd, trading as BosOn) don't keep a copy on our servers. When you sign in with Meta, the key passes through getboson.app on its way to your computer and is held for at most five minutes, then deleted as soon as BosOn collects it. It is never logged.

How to delete it

1. Disconnect BosOn. In BosOn, open Connections, then Meta ads, and click Disconnect. The key is deleted from your computer straight away.

2. Remove BosOn from your Meta accounts. On Facebook, go to Settings and privacy, Settings, then Business integrations, choose BosOn and click Remove. If you connected a business, you can also remove it in Meta's Business settings, under Integrations, Connected apps. BosOn can no longer reach your accounts after this.

3. Delete what BosOn saved. The results and posts BosOn read from Meta are part of your library on your computer. Deleting the items, the library folder, or uninstalling BosOn removes them. Nothing is left anywhere else.

YouTube and TikTok

When you connect YouTube, BosOn keeps your channel's ID, name and picture, and, for the videos it posted for you, their privacy status and their view, like and comment counts. When you connect TikTok, it keeps your account's open ID, display name, username and profile picture. Both are kept in your BosOn library on your own computer, with the keys stored encrypted there. As with Meta, the keys pass through getboson.app only on the way to your computer (at most five minutes), and we keep nothing.

1. Disconnect BosOn. In BosOn, open Connections, then YouTube or TikTok, and click Disconnect. The keys are deleted from your computer and revoked with Google or TikTok straight away.

2. Or remove BosOn in your account. For YouTube, remove BosOn in your Google Account's security settings. For TikTok, in the TikTok app go to Settings and privacy, Security and permissions, Apps and services permissions, choose BosOn and remove it. BosOn can no longer reach your account after either.

3. Delete what BosOn saved. The channel or account details and post numbers are part of your library on your computer. Deleting the posts, the library folder, or uninstalling BosOn removes them. Nothing is left anywhere else. Videos you posted stay on YouTube or TikTok until you delete them there.
